Caladenia Dementia Care is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation supporting people living with dementia through meaningful activities, connection, and high-quality care.

We are seeking a Casual Support Worker (Activity Assistant) to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, supporting group activities, and building positive relationships.  This role could be a great fit for:

🎓 University students studying health, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, teaching or related fields.

🌱 People looking for a rewarding career change into community or aged care.

🤝 Applicants with no previous aged care experience who are enthusiastic, compassionate and eager to learn and hold a Certificate III or similar in Aged Care

💼 Anyone looking for meaningful casual work with daytime hours and no night shifts.

Full training and ongoing support are provided, so previous experience in dementia care is ideal but not essential for the right candidate.

About the role - you will:

- Support people living with dementia in a warm, respectful, person-centred way

- Assist with group activities, social engagement, and day programs

- Drive our 12-seater bus (car licence only required) for outings and transport

- Provide personal care assistance with dignity and compassion, as required

- Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment

- No evening or overnight shifts.
- Closed on public holidays, Christmas, and New Year

What we’re looking for:

- Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, or Individual Support

- Willingness to assist with personal care

- Current driver’s licence and confidence driving a 12-seater bus

- Flexibility with availability between 8am–5pm

- A caring, reliable, and positive attitude

Experience in aged care is valued, but attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn are just as important.
