Becoming a dementia-friendly community means creating a place where people living with dementia feel respected, supported, and able to stay connected. With over 400,000 Australians currently living with dementia, we all have a role to play in helping people remain active in their communities for as long as possible.

The Dementia Action Week event in 2025Â "A bend in the Road, not the end of the road" hosted by Council and facilitated by Caladenia was a huge success.

More than Memory - Dementia Action Week
As part of Dementia Action Week, Yarra Ranges Council and Caladenia Dementia Care invite you to the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum for an afternoon of learning, connection and conversation.
Hear from Sarah Yeates, CEO of Caladenia Dementia Care, as she explores how dementia can affect the senses and shares practical strategies to support people living with dementia and those who care for them.
Following the presentation, you’ll enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea and have the opportunity to ask questions and explore the Museum's exhibits.
The free community event is ideal for people living with dementia, carers, family members and anyone interested in learning more.
